The 5th InterPore UK Conference

On behalf of the organising committee, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the 5th UK InterPore Conference organised by Teesside University on September 2nd and 3rd, 2019.

The conference will have sessions on the following topics:

  1. Fundaments of flow, transport, reaction, and deformation
  2. Mathematical modelling and simulation of transport in porous media
  3. Geo-energy and water resources
  4. Chemical and Electro-chemical applications
  5. Geology and geosciences

The UK chapter of the International Society for Porous Media www.interpore.org (InterPore UK) was established in 2015 with the aim of strengthening the porous media-related research in the UK, by creating synergy among UK-based researchers both in academia and industry.  InterPore UK is a fast growing community and since its start in 2015, it has held very successful annual events in Edinburgh (2015), Loughborough (2016), Warwick (2017), and Aberdeen (2018).

This year (2019) the InterPore UK conference will be held at Teesside University.

Processes that involve porous media are significant in a wide range of applications such as oil and gas production, grondwater remediaition, and fuel cells. Other applications include food production, filtration, concrete, ceramics, moisture absorbents, textiles, paint drying, polymer composites, porous tissues,  and ngineered tissues. Within this context multiphase flow and transport in porous media is of special interest.

InterPore society aims to provide a platform to exchange knowledge and ideas to design/perform relevant experiments and to model flow and transport in complex porous media.
